Hey, everybody! It’s T-Man! This is my second review in my Eragon Week series of reviews. This is the review for the movie.

Saphira is a work of art, BUT WHAT’S WITH ALL THE BOOK-TO-MOVIE CHANGES?????!!!!!!??????

This movie was good, don’t get me wrong, and Saphira looks SO AWESOME!!! Thing is, THERE ARE SO MANY CHANGES FROM THE BOOK THAT IT’S CRAZY!!! OK, I wasn’t fazed by the vast majority; in fact, there were some that I could understand (such as Angela, a witch, being in Daret instead of Teirm so they could include her but still have this movie length and not a miniseries, because the book was so long), but there were some, such as Brom dying at the hands of Durza rather than at the hands of the Ra’zac (who died themselves), the absence of Solembum (the werecat that lives with Angela), and Saphira instantly growing because of some Rider-dragon magic, that ticked me off. I expected there to be quite a few changes due to my cousin (who was also a fan of the book) telling me. Well, I don’t need (or want) to explain the plot because the BASIC plot is the same as the book. This movie is not as good as the book, but who’d expect it to be? I mean, after all, movie adaptations are rarely as good as the books they are based off (Lord of the Rings may be the only exception).

T-Man’s Pros and Cons:

Pros:

+ Saphira ROCKS!!!
+ A fun experience

Cons:

- So…many…changes…!!!!!

Watch It/Skip It:

Due to all the changes, I advise that fans of the books proceed with caution. You guys may not like it because so much was changed. If you’re a fan of the fantasy genre of movies, you might want to give this a try, but don’t buy it on DVD. Watch it off Starz or some other movie channel. I base my recommendations on other peoples’ opinion as well as my own. If most people didn’t like it, then I say to watch it on TV for zero dollars and zero cents so you don’t waste any money in case you don’t like it. This movie isn’t for everyone. Only a handful of book fans will like this movie, and only a handful of other people will as well. I can’t say to avoid it, though, because I liked it… Anyway, se onr sverdar sitja hvass!

Rating: Pretty Good
